Vapor Intrusion Testing

Testing Mechanics Corporation performs Vapor Intrusion Testing designed to conform to the American Society for Testing & Materials (ASTM) E-1907-97 and F-1869-98.

The testing measures the quantity of moisture emissions that are released through below grade and on grade concrete floors, measuring the pounds of moisture over a 1,000 square foot area during a 24 hour period for the purposes of determining the suitability of applying solid vinyl, rubber or wood and most other flooring materials on existing concrete slabs.

Most flooring manufacturers do not recommend installation of their materials upon concrete slabs with moisture emission rates above 3.0 pounds.

Proper testing of the existing moisture emissions can assure that flooring systems will not fail due to excessive moisture intrusion
