Testing Mechanics has performed thousands of air quality tests for numerous airborne contaminants. The MTA, school districts, building managers, state and local government agencies, developers, hotel chains, airlines, restaurants, builders, office buildings, manufacturing facilities as well as homeowners have used our services. Our experience, knowledge and technical abilities will help you resolve any air quality issues you encounter.

Our Air Quality Services involve the following:
  • General Air Quality Testing (Carbon dioxide, Carbon monoxide, temperature
         and relative humidity)
  • Specific Contaminant Testing (chemical and biological using NIOSH
         methods)
  • Hazardous Waste Site Monitoring (VOC’s, particulates etc.)
  • Personal (worker) Exposure Monitoring
  • Sick Building Syndrome Investigations
  • Mold/Fungus Testing

  •     Indoor pollution sources that release gases or particles into the air are the primary cause of indoor air quality problems in homes. Inadequate ventilation can increase indoor pollutant levels by not bringing in enough outdoor air to dilute emissions from indoor sources and by not carrying indoor air pollutants out of the home. High temperature and humidity levels can also increase concentrations of some pollutants.
The majority of Indoor Air Quality problems are due to an insufficient supply of fresh outdoor air. If too little outdoor air enters an office, classroom or home, pollutants can accumulate to levels that can pose health and comfort problems.
Other common problems can be associated with chemical treatments such as pesticides, herbicides and cleaning products. Additionally, installation of new building products and furnishings from renovation products can produce a variety of irritants. Water and moisture damage can result in mold/fungus growth and improperly operating combustion sources can result in dangerous levels of Carbon monoxide.

Testing Mechanics Corp. has extensive experience testing a wide variety of contaminants in a multitude of different facilities. Determining the presence of pollutants and allergens, as well as employee exposure and the assessing the General Air Quality can provide increased productivity, energy efficiency and comfort of building occupants.
